About Thursday Plantation

Thursday Plantation has been helping people see the power of nature for almost forty years. Thursday Plantation began in the 1970s with a man named Eric White, who was amazed by the possible benefits tea tree oil could offer. Because of his fascination with tea tree oil, he decided to establish a tea tree plantation in northern NSW in Australia in the year of 1976.

It was only after 4 years that he was granted a crown lease. This lease arrived via the mail on a Thursday, and thus the brand of Thursday Plantation was born.

Eric White's legacy was continued by his step-son Christopher Dean and his wife Lynda, who brought the magical restorative power of tea tree oil from the plantation and into the homes throughout the world. The Deans accomplished this by establishing the Australian Tea Tree Industry Association and getting the government to support research on Australian tea tree oil.

Around the same time, Thursday Plantation bough a farmland in Ballina and established a sustainable and ecologically-sound tea tree plantation there. This factory in Ballina distilled its first oil in 1989 and during the following year, scientists began research and development work. Before long, Thursday Plantation's tea tree oil was being delivered to customers from countries like France, Hong Kong, and New Zealand.

Today, Thursday plantation has returned hundreds of millions of tea trees to their native lands, ensuring that the tea tree oil industry will remain a sustainable one. Thursday Plantation has expanded and started manufacturing medicinal grade oils and other plant oil based products.
