Bausch and Lomb is a US-based company that specializes in optical health care products. It began in Rochester, New York, hundreds of years ago in 1853. A German immigrant named John Jacob Bausch started an optical goods shop. When the shop grew, he borrowed money from his friend Henry Lomb. Thus, a partnership was formed.

The Bausch and Lomb brand has a long history of innovation with optical products. Bausch and Lomb began with manufacturing rubber eyeglass frames. Later on, they began working with microscopes, binoculars, and camera shutters. As a matter of fact, Bausch and Lomb developed the lenses that first took satellite pictures of the moon! Bausch and Lomb also is the pioneer of the first soft contact lenses.

Today, because of their dedication to innovation, quality, and craftsmanship, Bausch and Lomb continues to be the largest international provider of eye health care products.
