What is Anaphylaxis?
Anaphylaxis refers to life threatening or fatal allergic reactions due to an exposure to certain types of allergens, be it from food allergies (peanuts), insect bites or stings (bees), reaction to medication (penicillin) or other triggers. Once the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis show, the epinephrine auto injection treatment helps you act fast and deal with it.
Symptoms of anaphylaxis typically include appearance of rash or hives, flushing, itchiness and swelling of the lips or tongue. The affected person may also experience tightness in the chest or throat, resulting to difficulty in breathing. Chest pain, headaches, dizziness and low blood pressure levels may also result.

Epipen Junior Adrenaline Injection 150mcg must be injected into the outer thighs as it contains a single dosage of epinephrine. NEVER inject into the vein, buttock, hands, feet, fingers or toes.
Epinephrine is known for its pharmacological effects on the treatment of anaphylaxis. Epinephrine makes up about 80% of catecholamines present in the adrenal medulla. In the case of life threatening situations, the medulla releases epinephrine and it innervates structures in different parts of the body, especially the sympathetic system or the ‘fight or flight’ response.
