Xylocaine 2% Jelly (gel) is a topical anaesthetic that is used to help prevent pain and discomfort during certain medical tests and procedures where lubrication is required.
Xylocaine 2% Jelly is designed to provide rapid* but short-term (about 20-30 minutes) numbing during medical procedures where lubrication is also needed.

Directions
Single use only. Blister pack includes one single use disposable nozzle. Sterile, until opened.
Xylocaine Jelly will be given to you by your doctor or nurse. Your doctor or pharmacist may also suggest that you buy it without prescription. Xylocaine Jelly is given before a procedure to prevent discomfort, or applied to the end of medical instruments for lubrication as well. The maximum dose of jelly is 30 mL (600 mg) in a 12 hour period.

Warnings
Do not eat or drink within 60 minutes of using Xylocaine Jelly within mouth or throat area. Use only on medical advice. Absorption from mucous membranes is relatively high, excess Xylocaine Jelly should be removed. Contains hydroxybenzoates. If skin irritation occurs, discontinue use and seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist. Do not use for teething pain in children.
